Was watching an Invincibles goals compilation. Had forgotten how awesome that team was.
A couple of things made their counter-attacks unstoppable. They were incredibly fast. They could sprint at breakneck speed in the final minutes of the game. They got lots of bodies forward so they had option as they got into the box, and rebounds were often buried by another Arsenal man.
We also had incredible distribution from deep to release our forwards. Ashley Cole was especially good at this but the CMs also contributed.
It weren't just our counters, our passing had pace and was crisp even facing teams that defended deep. Then our movement was just the best I have seen from any team ever. We had so many players making vertical runs - Vieira, Pires, Henry, Ljungberg all willing to run in behind. That's one aspect actually that this Liverpool side has been really good at, coached well. So many players making vertical runs.
