I wonder how much difference the change in pitch size has made? Sure, we had a bunch of big athletic men back in the day, but they were so quick from back to front. Can't imagine them scoring as many our larger Emirates turf.
Even in 2006 when we were becoming shorter, we could still counter quickly. The Emirates pitch seems twice as big these days.
