Who gives a fuck about our ex players, the only time I've seen cesc play since he left us was at the euros. Only ever really saw clichy when we played man city because to be honest I'm an arsenal fan and watching other teams especially to see our judas ex players is a waste of my time.

I don't care how many trophies they go on to win because they didn't win them here.

Wenger will sort this mess out, he's lost anelka, petit, overmars, adams retired, vieira, lehman, pires, ljungberg, cashley, gilberto, henry, bergkamp, adebayor, flamini,hleb, toure, clichy, nasri and fabregas but we've always survived and we will now.

He clearly felt disrespected by Arsene's comments that we stuck by him and hoped Robin would be loyal, after Robin had agreed to keep things quiet in the media. Obviously that first meeting was a disaster, and I don't see why Robin would have lied about the club's lack of ambition. Maybe Gazidis did not return his calls hence the 2-week holiday dig. That being said, he really fucked the club over by making a statement like that without any warning. Something obviously went really wrong when they were discussing at the end of last season.

Feeling progressively worse about this now.
I'm aware we'll survive - Arsenal will go on without him but god we look small again this summer.

I understand why people are raging at him, I'm not, I loved him as a player here and he's always seemed decent and straightforward in his dealings.
He sees from the inside what's going on, and what has been going on.
He knows he'll get paid better and play with a whole team full of world class talent wherever he goes next.
Unfortunately for us the best players don't see us as worthy any more.
We don't win anything and we don't pay big.
That's why he left, that's why over the next few years the likes of Jack and Chamberlain and anyone who's good enough to play for City, Chelsea, Barca, or whoever else invests megabucks to win, will leave too.

We'll carry on of course, not like our finances won't be peachy, but we won't move on, we won't get anywhere.
This infernal cycle will just continue as long as Gazidis and Wenger and Kroenke are around.

That's the way it seems to me right now, that's the way it's been for years and I don't see it changing.

Of course he'll sort it out, because he always sorts it out, even last year after an absolutely ridiculous summer. Losing a bloke like Perse is no big deal in isolation.

I find it interesting how people can't manage to accept the problems at ownership and board level as well as seeing what RVP did today as selfish, unprofessional and spiteful. Its not one or the other. The owner is a selfish dickhead but so is van Persie and neither really give a fuck about us fans.

No I don't mind y va and no I'm not saying so to wind anybody up asa.

I just think that wenger takes his cues from the boys upstairs, I personally don't believe that wenger has as much power at the club as some people think, he certainly doesn't dictate our transfer budget or our wage policy and he doesn't directly negotiate transfers. He does abide by those rules though and yes he has to take some of the blame but there's only so much he can do with his hands tied. He wanted mata last summer but our negotiating team fucked up that deal, is wenger to blame for that?

I'm aware a lot of people have lost faith and you are well within your rights to do so but if wenger goes up to kroenke and says he likes the look of that goetze fella in germany, dortmund want 25 million and kroenke tells him no, what is wenger or any manager supposed to do in that situation?

He works with what he's got, it might be dragging us into the gutter, we might lose our star players and fans might start rioting but don't fool yourself into thinking that if wenger goes and mourinho per say comes in that everything will change. A lot of money will need to be spent by a new manager to rebuild this club, money he won't get unless there is a big change at the club from board level.

I agree with this. The cost of losing him is more psychological than the actuall loss of the player. Just look at how crazy emotional some of the reaction has been. Part of that is that a lot of fans felt a strong emotional connection to him. I can understand that even though I never had those feelings about him. But a lot of it is about how it makes us look, what it says about Arsenal. It's about pride, embarassment.

I don't think any of us really know what's going on, but pretty much everything I've seen written suggest that what you've just written I'd a load of codswallop. Wenger is the most influential man at the club. By a country mile.

Depends what offers we receive. I'd ditch him this summer given the additions we've made

We haven't had a player as influential as van Persie since the early Bergkam years. Even the likes of Henry, who were obviously better players, probably weren't as single-handedly responsible for as many league places as van Persie was last year.

We've replaced him with Giroud & Podolski, and will probably give Crapmakh another chance too now, so we'll see how we do, but he wasn't just some talisman last season either.
