That statment is quite damning, basically he is saying publicly what we have all known for a while, We lack ambition. Doubt we will be able to hang on to any stars in the future. Its ok though, we have Giroud.
The statement's a disgrace. van Persie, like Fabregas, is extremely good at handling himself and talking to the press but clearly someone's got in his ear and made him put something as inflammatory as that.
I suppose he's justifying his move but there's absolutely no need to say something like that. Just thank everyone, leave and hold your tongue till people move on.
I don't understand the anger against RvP, you can't blame a player for wanting the best financial deal for his family and maybe a nice big trophy for himself, he's only got a few years left playing and he certainly won't get them here.
Nobody should be surprised at developments, a top player has left us every year since 2005, the situation is obvious if you want somewhere to direct your anger- direct it at Wenger Gazidis and Kroenke.
Kroenke is one of the richest men in the world yet he refuses to invest in our team, he's not stupid he just wants to leech money out of the club not put in in.
In time he will sell when he can't squeeze anymore out but a lot of damage will be done by then.
Gazidis is his puppet, an oily snake, I certainly wouldn't buy a used car from him- or believe a word he says.
Wenger is a nutty professor yes, but he's a whore as well- He allows himself to be used to add credence to a regime just to get his free hand.
Any top manager who was ambitious to add some big trophies to his CV would have found the situation intolerable and resigned years ago.
So good luck RvP you left us with some good memories, you're not to blame for the mess we're in.
