If RvP is really going for money it won't matter. We will end up being the real losers. We will have a player who has no desire to stay, whose move to another club and the riches it brought would have been blocked - in short a very unhappy striker. He will play and leave next year on a free and still earn big wage. If we keep him and leave him out it is another thing.
In truth we need to show some backbone and not let any player run their contract down. Too many players have been in this situation where they have a year left which gives them too much bargaining power and there is always one loser.
If we need to send out a message we need to sell Theo if he doesn't sign and sell Song if he doesn't sign, else he will fuck off next year too.
