One way to test it would be to throw the bank at him like united did with rooney, see if he stays then?
Why in the world would we want to do that? Do people actually still want to him stay now?
He'll be 29 going into the upcomming season. He has a terrible injury record. We have very little to go on that would indicate that he can replicate the past season.
He's just not worth it.
And even if he were, I wouldn't want him now.
Because this isnt just about vPersie the player leaving, first of all, all those with contracts up for renewal will want to leave, considering vpersie was one of our most passionate what will happen to the likes of Walcott Song Vermaelen Wilshere are they going to be demotivated. Secondly the club will stink of selling club and all sorts of ambitions to win anything are straight out the door. Lastly whether he replicates the season or not he will most likely be hitting at least 15 goals 15 assists because of his quality as his game isnt based on pace and can adapt so age is hardly a factor.
Whatever happens he has to stay here next season and hopefully be convinced to sign, if not he can leave for free but we will have more power and be recognised as more ruthless to those who play for us.
