it would be beyond stupid. if we can't re-sign van persie because we have no ambition and act like a feeder club, then why spite ourselves and pretend we're not a feeder club? that's the worst of both worlds.

Exactly. If he refuses to sign, the correct thing to do is fuck him off for the most cash possible, hopefully to some shitheel mismanaged club which fails as badly as we do, so we can laugh at him from afar.

i think he'll stay but maybe not sign - the main reason for him staying will be the lack of interest from clubs he'd be attracted too

I would keep him just to see a front two of podolski and van persie, even if its for just one season. Get a playmaker like kagawa behind those two and a defensive giant, and im more optimitstic about next season.

That 25 million will be lining stans/wengers and gazidis pocket, have no idea why any arsenal fan would rather have 25 million than van persie next season, considering wengers history of never reinvesting big after recieving huge fees. He has probably already planned robins sale for 25 million and his 11 million replacement is podolski, exactly like how he sold nasri for 25 mil and brought his 11 million replacement gervinho.

Who knows maybe podolski will replace robin, but i would rather have them both.

Im not even going to argue this, that money is wengers transfer budget for the summer maybe arteta was an emergency signing because of the sales of important players, but the least we can expect is buying players without having to sell. Anyway considering the amount we spent in the previous summer compared with our sales we still havent even broke even. The money we recieve will go straight on wages of staff with maybe 10 million spent on transfers.

I never said he wont spend, i said he wont use that 25 million, he will buy players but that will be from his summer transfer budget, not from that 25 million, although he might use some of it which will prbably be on another wenger gamble worth 8-10 mil.

I'm inclined to think that the nasri and cesc sale were good business, but not necessarily the proposed sale of Perse. Robin seems to have done much more to ingrain himself into the club and most importantly the dressing room, so his monetary value may not represent exactly what we stand to lose. A bit like the Vieira sale.
