Well perhaps they hope if we look like Man U we might play like them.

Robin looked more relaxed with his kids. We were shit but some of the players looked dejected at the Lap of Appreciation. Gervinho and Benayoun still seemed to be discussing the chances during the game.

It's not good sign is it?
I really don't know anymore, maybe he just knows that whatever he says will be misconstrued.

He'd have to be as crazy as the rest of them to sign a new deal.

Here's hoping!

Reckon he will sign if we make CL but there's nothing stopping him from leaving next season ( Henry)

Everyone involved in the contract negotiations needs to convince Robin that this is not his last contract as a professional footballer. He is still only 28 (ok, soon to be 29). He can play on until his mid-thirties which isn't old at all nowadays. A 2 year extension and it's a good deal for everyone. Robin still owes us despite his goal tally this season. Hope his ego hasn't been too inflated to forget that.

I'm worried about all this delaying crap, but believe it isn't too late because he obviously hasn't made up his mind yet.
Fail to secure CL footy and we'll be parting ways though. It's the bare minimum we should be able to offer.

Just seen a recent picture of robin with Vieira on Twitter his man city link is very worrying

David Platt Patrick Vieira Gael Clichy Kolo Toure Samir Nasri.....It'd be like home from home. 😉

In fact- I think I might support Man City if they win the PL and RvP joins them.

Yep, glory hunter since 1971.

All the same players just a different manager and being backed by a billionaire who wants to spend his millions.

I'll stomach it if he goes to Citeh. Plus they and Real are the only teams who'll fill Wenger's pockets. If he goes to Barca, I'll be thrust into depression.

The big problem with Robin is his age. If he was 25. Gazidis could swing £40m for him. Now he's probably worth half that, and it would be sad to see him sold because £20m usually doesn't get players of that caliber. It's not everyday a manager can grope around the bargain hamper and pull out Kompany or Oezil.

Think that if RvP leaves, and he will because we don't look like we're going to win some trophies soon, then it will be either this season or the season after.

Having said that, he's a winner and won't stay so we will have to sort this out sooner than later anyway. Either way this ends up, I'll still like him until he retires, a proper man and a top player.

It is not worth selling him for £20mil.

For one, he is worth more than that. Even at 29, his style is not something which will deteriorate sharply over the coming years. And secondly, we have to stand for once and show we are serious about building a winning team ffs.

This summer is another pivotal one, and we have to show we mean business, or just get rid of the whole structure and start again. We can't risk selling him, and the likes of Sagna etc get their heads turned.

He's worth more that that, but even the 20mil is better than 0mil just a year after. Is there any top striker on the market for, let's say, 30mil? Imagine if we sold RvP and stated Podolski was his replacement the other day.

I'd call Biggus and went with him to London to sack Wenger.

Selling him and calling Podolski his replacement would be criminal and our M.O over the last few years. BUt truthfully, I feel that Podolski was brought in to play on the left.

The only passable deal, would be RVP going to Real and us getting Higuain, but even then we should not be selling Van Persie not matter the circumstance.

The vicious cycle of selling our best players has to stop. We're turning into a feeder club. A part of me thinks Van Persie is putting pressure on the board to spend money and seems to be working with our recent signing and our early moves for Vertonghen and M'Vila.

Why is paddy doing that hand pose those centrefold girls do?

rvp might only have a year left but he has to know that he's taking a risk by playing next season (or even at the euros) without a long term contract. if he returns to his injury prone ways, man city or any other elite wage paying club won't be offering him more as a free agent next summer than what arsenal are offering him now.

Robin refused to speak to the press after yesterday's game. Hopefully it's just because he was absolutely fuming with the result, and not anything more sinister.

The players refused to speak to the beeb because of Linekar's actions last week. Nice story though.

Thanks for clearing that up. Pleased the players did that.

Good on them.

Incidentally. As good as robin is. I recon should he stay next year, lukas will out score him

Good move from the players the bbc pick on those they think are weak, fergie stopped talking to them and since he came back they dont say a bad word incase he gets angry. Linekar says his taking the mickey but why hasnt he taken the piss out of any other manager...

I wouldn't be so sure of that. City signed Hargreaves last summer didn't they?

i seriously doubt it was for huge money.

I can't see him leaving England because of what he said about his family, so here's hoping he stays put.
