This is bullshit, when the Sahin deal fell through I thought the club were at least looking for another midfielder. Looks like the Sahin loan deal was simply a good bargain rather than any genuine ambition to strengthen the midfield.

I didn't put that very well I guess, when I say their league I mean that they have more players who can, because individually they are a cut above the rest, turn a game around on their own.

Right now I think we only have Cazorla.
Maybe Chamberlain, Podolski, Giroud, Jack even Theo will develop into those type of players for us this season, it's just that I haven't seen enough so far to be sure.
We'd need a monster season from Szczesny, Vermaelen and Kos too.

You know old Wengey - he only ever takes a risk when it comes to the strength and depth of the squad.
Poor Jack is probably now being pencilled in for non stop action from October onwards.
No fear he'd gamble a bit when it comes to our finances.

I meant have no expectations with regards to new signings, that way if we don't sign anyone you'll be zen about it and if we do make a signing, great.

I think we'll do well this season.

I'm not sure how after the debacle that was last summer how any arsenal fan could be worried, that should have steeled everyone up with the knowledge that no matter how bad the window is it isn't as bad as summer 2011.

I meant to say, I want to believe we're going to try and sign some players in the next 24 hours that might mean we can actually do something this season. It's not acceptable for us to do nothing.

We can just hope that players not needed are shifted out today so that we can work on the 'ins' tomorrow. We certainly need to add to the quality of the first team and to the squad.

We already have 25 players registered and i can't imagine us unregistering those players, keeping them on our books and go on to sign new players.

I am convinced we will see 'ins' if we first see 'outs'.

Terrible way of looking at things, and it's not how things work. I mean, in that case why not lower your expectations to not getting relegated, that way the coming season will be amazing for you.

Every Arsenal fan should expect we make signings to move forward.

He knows what he's doing, but what he's doing limits our chances of competing as strongly as possible this season.

I think we absolutely need at least one more first choice option - a chance creating, goal scoring attacking player or a technically sound, versatile, robust central midfielder.

Knowing that this may not happen is not something that's in any way enjoyable.

I keep hearing how Coquelin is better than XYZ established footballer, but whenever the prospect of him getting anywhere near our midfield actually comes up everyone seems horrified. He's 21 now - if he isn't good enough to be considered a backup option or occasional starter now, it's time to start questioning his future at the club.

Our options out wide are terrible, really need to buy a player with a bit of magic out wide

Cazorla should play wide and we should buy another creative midfielder.

Much rather keep Cazorla where he is, and find another wide forward who can also play through the middle. Our striking options are a colossal risk.

I'd go with Rohit's suggestion as plan B though.
