Top 5 most hated players in the PL era!
Yep, Muscat's another who used to premeditate attacks on opposition players. Glad he's no longer involved with the Australian setup, horrible piece of work. A psychopath, you might say.

I was on the sideline right next to him when he spat at Le Bob during an Australia/France game, to say I was angry would be putting it mildly.

I'm talking about Keane as a footballer. I respected him as a top player and Arsenal opponent, somebody that played the game hard but pretty fair.No moaning, no nonsense, no bullshit.
How much do you drink, I think you might have done serious damage to your long term memory.
Would you say the same thing about Joey Barton, Tim?
(genuine question)

Muscat was an utter piece of shit. His antics in the A-League were just as bad IIRC.
I started a thread on Muscat in the early days on here after he tried to sever an opponents leg at the knee. Nobody replied!
Ben Thatcher is a good shout, actually. Thug.
Another thug who I was reminded of recently is Michael Brown, formerly of Spurs and Fulham and a shit load of other clubs.
Ok, that's a small lie. Three people replied about Muscat.
This thread reminds me of a blog/website I've wanted to start for ages.
Someone beat you to that website/blog idea.

No. Barton is a cheap shot artist. And you'd never get Keane making the most of a foul to get somebody sent off.

Tbf mate, you're so partial when it comes to Keane it's pointless discussing him with you. I remember Keane coming up in conversation back on A-M and you described him in a way that made him sound like Carlton Palmer. You refused to accept that he was a hugely gifted footballer.
I've always accepted he was a good player. I do hate him though. Good reasons for that though, first one is I'm a gooner.
I think you said he had ordinary technique or something. Clearly an absurd point of view. Like I said, far too partial to discuss Keane the footballer properly.
Keane was a horrible cuntish footballer, but he was a horrible cuntish footballer in a way that i can respect. One, because he could actually play the game too, but also because he was properly hard and uncompromising rather than cheap and underhand.
He didn't have great technique though. Doesn't stop him being one of the best players the leagues seen. Also doesn't mean he's not a cunt.
And everyone is partial in a thread about who they think are the biggest cunts in all of football
And if you think you respect players purposely breaking peoples legs on the pitch then thats your issue not mine.
He had fantastic technique. I've heard plenty of ex players who played with him mention what a gifted technical footballer he was, mainly because his actual ability gets over looked quite a lot because of all the other fluff that people like to talk about.
Just out of interest, all things aside, can some of you give me examples of hard but fair players? Seems that most of you would think any non Arsenal player that gets stuck in and is a bit uncompromising is a complete cunt.
(Have to be honest, reckon if there was ever a Tolly kickabout you'd all think I was a right nasty piece of work judging by the comments in this thread! )
Vidic is hard but fair.
De Rossi.
Generally players who are considered to be "hard" doesn't play fair though. Keane certainly didn't. I don't give a fuck about whether he moaned or not when he got tackled. He was still a cunt and he still ended someone's career with a premediated attack like a fucking coward.
Never saw Gattuso as a dirty player either.
Wasn't it De Rossi who elbowed that US player in the 2006 WC?
