To be fair you were in love with him at the end of last season and during the summer, so you've obviously seen something in him previously.

Yesterday was comfortably the fittest, the quickest, the strongest and the most agile I have seen him look for about 2 years. In amongst the seething anger of getting beaten by Swansea, and in amongst his 2 poor moments which effectively cost us the game, I was actually thrilled to see Ramsey looking like Ramsey again. I think back to the second half when Sinclair beat Djourou down the left and ran into our box at full speed - he tried to outpace and outmuscle Ramsey - Ramsey was quick enough and strong enough to shrug him off and win the ball back. I guarantee you he couldn't have done that 6 weeks ago - and that has to be considered when people make definitive statements about what he can and can't do based on this season. For a large part of the season he has been working his way back to full fitness, trying to find his feet, his role in the team, and his confidence.

Maybe he should have played less whilst he was doing that, but it's not like we have a great alternative waiting in the wings, and as I said earlier in the thread, I really don't think he has been all that bad, just not particularly outstanding either.

And I don't think Britten gave him a lesson yesterday either.

He's done enough shoddy stuff to lose me. He used to run into the box and latch onto things like lampard or scholes,now he hovers in the same area looking sideways too much

Chamberlain isn't ready to play through the middle. He wouldn't defend enough and he'd lose the ball more than Ramsey because Chamberlain takes even more risks.

Supporters are prone to hyperbole, but barring the unlikely event that Ramsey's shagged your wife I'm sure everyone wants him to be a great player and generally thinks he could be at least a good one. What is frustrating is that right now he clearly isn't, and nothing is being done about it. Why is a 21 year old working his way back from a horrible injury in Arsenal's first team as a starter?

There are better ways to handle this than playing him every day of the week in games critical to the stability of this club.

Well thats the thing isn't it. And when Jack gets back what happens then? Is he just going to be rushed in because we need him? Its terrible mismanagement of young players.

I've no time for Cesc Fabregas but Wenger was fucking him up with injuries too by over playing him. Its no wonder he pissed off for a cushy life riding Messi's coattails.

As for the main theme of this thread, Ramsey is definitely not a dud and his talent is both abundant and obvious. Seriously, some on here need to start thinking and posting with a bit of perspective. Some of these threads and posts belong in the lobby over at AM

But in all seriousness, I joined this forum to engage in some semi-intelligent and rational discussion about Arsenal, and I’d have to say that I’m genuinely surprised by some of the utter rubbish that passes as discussion in here. People may well think they’re being humorous or clever by saying that Ramsey is ‘a dud’ and won’t ever be a top class MC, or Theo ‘is shit’ and we should flog him off to whoever will pay money for him, but to me these kind of rubbish posts are completely lacking in perspective and thought and add nothing to a discussion. Not to mention they’re neither humorous nor clever.

You've got to remember that everyone here is a certified Arsenal nut. Emotions run high, especially in the wake of bad defeats or runs of poor form. Things get said, threads get made, and we all vent our spleens, some in defence of a player, or the manager, or the club, others getting things off their chest in the other direction. Every one of us at one point or another can all go a little over the top in making our points, but that's all part of the fun, no?

In the clear light of day, and taking the emotional aspect out of it, we can all probably agree that we're a good club, run pretty well, and with a pretty good team, but it kills us all that we're not the very best, and so we squabble about the different ways in which we fail to be exactly that and exactly what the best way is to go on and become exactly that.
