haha ozil we had cesc here last few seasons and he did alright. Pressing isnt as big an issue as our lack of goals are and ramseys job is to score goals or create.

I'm sorry, but that's bull. Last season we had Cesc playing in Ramsey's position and we were still in all 4 competitions in late Feb. Cesc did his fair share of pressing and yet still put in top quality performances - creating and scoring goals. You're making out like it's absolutely necessary for Ramsey to run around like an idiot in order for our team to "work", but I disagree. And even if it is, there have to be better players who can run around like idiots and still be able to create/score.

Edit: our team really isn't that different now. Nasri's gone and Jack has been replaced by Arteta (due to injury) and that's pretty much it. We often played with a front three of Arshavin - van Persie - Walcott and the team "worked" fine.

I never said that did i. The wider problem is players like ramsey walcott song playing as first choice for arsenal then fans making excuses for them because they are emotionally attached to the players. And then wenger not replacing them. He might become a decent player but the fact he is first choice attacking midfielder for arsenal and how he has played is a complete and utter joke.

Ramsey is playing exactly the same role Cesc did. At first, he wasn't. But its all gone pyramid shaped again and its fucking trash, just like it was with Cesc here. Difference was, Cesc was a world class player.

You can't compare the two of them, I know. But its not because they're playing different roles, its because Cesc blows Ramsey out of this world.

We have never played with a flat middle 3 for sustained periods like we are doing now, ever since we switched formations in the summer of 2009.

We play very differently now compared to how we did with Cesc.

The problem with us right now in the middle is not having a player that can operate in tight spaces in my opinion. Ramsey is poor at it.

Its not all that different FFS. The system is the same, its just different players and different style filling it.

It's a system based on width and hustle through the middle compared to a system based on possession and short passing through the middle of the park. Massive difference.

Thats just an excuse to for ramsey and gervinho who cant pass or control the ball as well as cesc and nasri. Gervinho is more direct than nasri but he is essentially his "replacement".

Check Cesc Fabregas´s numbers in his first couple of seasons for us as a starter and then come back.

I keep hearing this "its his first season" for ramsey. No its not, he was first choice for a cardiff side which went to the fa cup final, and played quite a couple of games in his first season before his injury, and last season he played a good number of games for various teams. He is 21 now by which stage fabregas had 13 goals in his season and countless assists and that was in a 2 man midfield. But im not expecting ramsey to be on cesc level that would be stupid, but he isnt even on a level good enough to be first choice at arsenal. Just comparing the technique and first touch of cesc and ramsey is a huge difference let alone the stats.

Of course im going to take his injury into account but even then why is he starting games for us if he hasnt got over it.
