Ya i think Ramsey will score more too. He always gets into good positions and that hasn't gone away even in his bad games. Just give him time and he'll do better. Wilshere is more of a playmaker anyway.

On the topic of Ramsey and Wilshere playing together, I don't think one necessarily has to be positioned higher than the other. Against United last year didn't we have Song playing the holding role and Jack and Aaron together in midfield taking turn to go forward? I seem to remember both getting forward and at the same time doing their respective defensive jobs. I think both have a lot to offer from deep positions, while they will hopefully become effective in the final third of the pitch as well. They are on course to become two very well rounded midfielders, and neither should be limited to playing in one section of the midfield.

Thats right. Rooney was playing in the number 10 spot and Song man marked him out of the game. Mean while Ramsey and Wilshere dominated the midfield.

I´ll eco those sentiments. Those two could form a formidable partnership in the, hopefully, not so distant future.

He reminds me of a young gerrard but obviously he is not on form at the moment. He needs to be scoring more of those long shots.

Wouldn't mind too much if he at least put a few on target. Wish we'd just blast it at the keeper every once in awhile instead of the ball dribbling miserably wide at an attempted finesse shot.

If he tried to play a bit more like Stevie G, it would help him, so long as he doesn't go the whole hog.

Its those damn flicks...he doesn't need them. They reek of a lack of confidence. His little Cesc-ie moves and whatnot are just a hindrance to his natural ability. I think he does have the drive, Dula, and with time he could have the guile, but it just feels like he isn't playing his game. Much like many of our players, really. When he first came he was so direct, it seemed. Against Fenerbahce in the CL when he scored that goal...that's what made him exciting and dangerous.

I thought he did well against Utd bar the terrible finishing. He seemed to be looking forwards more, less like a tactician and more like the battering ram that he really could be. Honestly might have been the Ox's surprisingly natural creativity that freed him up a bit, let him do his thing.

I feel as if what people are really saying with the Gerrard/Lampard comparisons is that Ramsey's natural game needs goals. I'd agree with that. At his best he's got a direct style, great vision and stamina, and an eye for goal that's accompanied by an accurate shot. That's not where he's at at the moment though.

On the contrary, I think that's exactly what Ramsey does have - or the explosiveness at least. What separates him more is what he has going on between his ears - I'd prefer to see him be a much more selfish player. Not sink into Gerrard-esque levels of egomania, but at least try to be a little bit more direct a little bit more often.

For me, it's mental with him. Think he's got easily as much ability as Lampard or Gerrard, but he doesn't have the right approach to the game at the minute, or the confidence or swagger that either of those two have that allows them to influence games.

Lampard is an interesting comparison though - think they're both players who won't really flourish until relatively late.

In his first full season in the first team Cesc Fabregas had 2 goals and 4 assists in the PL in 33 games. In his second season Cesc had 3 goals and 5 assists in 35 games.

I know Cesc was younger than Aaron is now, but this really is Aaron´s first full season in the first team, and he is doing it off the back of a horrible injury as well.

Ramsey has probably played too many games so far this season due to a lack of quality in the squad at CM with the injuries to Wilshere and Diaby. I am not worried one bit though about the boy´s quality.

Wenger said a year to come back when asked in the summer so Ramsey is thereabouts now.

He hasn't been shit anyway.
