Just another point but if this deal does go through, Podolski will be the fourth or fifth 'experienced' player (i.e. past the age of 24) we've signed in the last 12 months? Not an indication of quality per say, just an interesting shift in transfer policy.
I think Wenger's seen quite clearly that a team heavily weighted towards youth and development can lose it's way and implode under pressure.
