I don't really follow these transfer stories and I haven't really been following this story at all, but just interested to know what noises Podolski and his club have been making - have they said anything about doing business with Arsenal?

It certainly would be nice to wrap this up early and look forward to seeing him in the Euros (if he does indeed start for Germany). I remember when we signed Rosicky before the 2006 World Cup; it was quite nice getting a sneak preview of what we wouldn't be getting.

It's more of a free role on the left hand side of the attack. They play with Klose up front and Müller and Podolski on the sides on paper, but essentially it's just a way to escape marking. The formation gets tilted when they play. Müller is more of a midfielder and Podolski is more of a striker. He doesn't have many of the responsibilities of a traditional wide man. Schweinsteiger and Khedira already cover the central space and support the fullbacks which mean that the attacking quartet is free to interchange a lot. Podolski usually settles for a position that resembles that of a striker and marks the guy in front of the defence to help out Özil. At least that's how it's been whenever I've watched them.

What a shot he has. If he does come and Robin stays will be interesting to see how we line up, dont see Podolski putting much of a shift defensively if he plays on the wing. Hope it goes through....

I like Podolski a lot as a player, and I also think he would be a great addition to our squad. I really, really hope this is true! For me he is the highest level of signing I can ever see us make under this manager and board.

Find it difficult to get worked up over transfer rumors early March though.

Gomez rarely starts for the national team under Löw when it matters though. It's Klose all the way. Even when he struggled badly at Munich he was generally preferred as the centreforward. He's having a terrific season at Lazio so far too so I can definitely see him keep his starting spot in the national team for a while.

Klose is having a great season in Italy as well in this the twilight of his career. Pretty sure he will start ahead of Gomez in the summer.

May sound a little strange, but I don´t really rate Gomez. 🙂

I thought Gomez had started the last few games but not suprised if Klose is preferred for the Euro's. He's quality.
