Bit harsh Sabre! Chamakh could very well have thought he'd have a part time lease on a starting position simply due to Van Persie's regular injuries.

Chamakh has always played in a 4-3-3/4-5-1, though. He was playing in that system when he came to prominence with Bordeaux

I agree, I think he'd play to the same level in either system.

I think the real issue is he doesn't know how to play our brand of football and therefore he needs to have better players surrounding him...otherwise he really struggles with the technical responsibility that comes with leading the line surrounded by mediocre players.

If he can just get back to being a busy player he can still be useful. As it stands he looks weak, indecisive and like he can barely move his feet.

When he first came, it was all his workrate, not anything else, that he was getting praise (and goals) for. When that went, it all went. Nothing whatsoever to do with formation or tactics or the players around him. This is all his problem, and its not one we fans (or Wenger for that matter) should have to put up with.

I don't buy it.

I think the guy still works very hard, does a lot running in-game, and on both offense and defense...

but in the end he is just an average player, not good-enough technically. And he knows it, which makes him nervous whenever he's in possession. He's always unsure of what to do with himself.

These deficiencies can and were minimized when he was playing with the first team, but they are brutally exposed when the players around him can't carry the burden.

Either way, get rid.

there's nothing to analyse. he can't shoot, and he never has been able to. he must be sold as soon as possible to anyone that will take him.

I know Tim we've had the rancid 4-3-3 pre Ckak, he might be pants in a 4-4-2 as well but I'd like to see him given a final chance under that system before we write him off forever.

The only reason he'd be likely to seem to improve in a 4-4-2 at the moment is if he could scuff the ball to the other striker to finish, instead of simply mis-hitting every shot.

If we get anymore injuries in the back, we should try Chamakh in defense. He could jump up and head balls, and put his strong body on opposing strikers.

His running about these days is just that, running about. When he first came here, we knew he was technically deficient, and we knew what kind of player he was. He was at least involved in play more often than not, always getting on the ball, and always trying things. Biggus is right, he can't shoot, but he won't do anything else either. He wants to leave, and he's giving us the Moneybayor treatment.

Wonder how much that matters to Wenger when scouting a player? Can´t be a coincidence that we have Song, Sagna, Chamakh, Almunia and Frimmers in our squad. On top of that we have Arshavin who constantly looks as if his wife cut his hair. One would think he could afford to go to a proper hair dresser.
