I have no personal stake in the national team, but as a betting man I wouldn't back that. Not when you consider Capello's failure with the national team, past meetings and England's underwhelming performances in summer tournaments. It'll end a draw and both sides will be happy with it considering they're both shit and lack a clear philosophy. Think both England and Sweden are aiming for five points in the group. They both reckon they'll draw against eachother and France and then beat Ukraine. Pretty sure that's what's going to happen too, at least as far as the draws are concerned. Have a suspicion that someone will fuck up against Ukraine though and get sent packing.
That could very well be the case Klaus. My prediction is based purely on the idea that they're bound to beat them sometime in a major tournament. I put that much thought into it 🙂
For me England's main problem isn't Capello (though he's not helping them by refusing to move their base and ensuring they have about 10,000 miles to travel in the group stage) it's the likes of Terry and the poison he brings with him.
Terry is a disgrace but it's not his fault that England fail at the basics or that their midfield can't pass the ball without Jack in there. He's not the one who picked Robert Green, Gareth Barry, Emile Heskey and Matthew Upson to start in a vital world cup game. And he didn't make himself captain again after all the scandals. It all goes back to Capello.
He's been far from impressive, no doubt about that.

Too much is being made of the names in that group; it's two good teams and two shit ones like all of the others. Portugal and Denmark are absolutely shocking teams now.
Portugal are pretty poor, but they have Ronaldo. They almost upset Spain in South Africa, and I don´t see why they couldn´t pull it off this time around. It helps when you have arguably the most dangerous attacking player on the planet in your team.

I've only seen Denmark once recently, last season against England, but they looked pretty decent. Play some nice football and Eriksen is a potential world class number 10.
