Well. that's because they actually had an amazing first half of the season. I cannot speculate on what might come around the corner. Parker, Essou-Ekotu, Adebayor, Bale, Friedel and vd Vaart all had an excellent first half of the season. They played exciting, enterprising football.
(as good as Parker's first half of the season was though, I still think that it is a bit sad that he made PFA team ahead of Cabaye, Tiote, Arteta, Song. I believe overall all four had a better season, even if you consider the big lift that Parker gave the Spurs midfield in the first half of the season with his work rate. He was just never as dominant against better midfielders this season.)
