If Fabregas just an irrelevance, then there's nothing wrong with bring him up? Just answering a question like. It's odd wasting space going on about just how much you don't care that Fabregas plays for Barcelona.
I'm quite interested in what Gazza means by a traditional creative mid because Pires and Scholes are a little different in the way they play. Would Giggs count? He's practically been a central mid over the past few years. Or Gerrard when he played in behind Torres?
Those two were the closest I could think of in terms of technical central creative players who dominated the league, even though bobby was more like a winger and scholes more like a cm.
Giggs was dominant as a traditional winger, he's just been a good squad option at centre mid. Gerrard wasn't exactly a traditional AM but I suppose he was as close as we've seen in England. Bergy played a similar role.
The main point is that this league has been dominated by power wide play and power forwards most of the time. Technical playmakers have traditionally been strong starters and waned at the end of the season, as we saw with with our 07-08 and 10-11 side, and city and tottenham found out this season. fergie seems to have realised this and hasn't bothered signing one for ages
