Yeah, I gave Football Weekly a go, hated it. James Richardson is great sitting at a table outside a Cafe with some newspapers describing the weeks events but quite annoying in a podcast.

In general I find most peoples opinions on football rather annoying so stay away from them, the Tuesday club being the only exception.

Arsecast is terrible, a listened to one for 10 mins and had to turn off. He can be fairly funny/quirky on his blogs but terrible in audio format.

The Tuesday Club is the only one i can listen to. Rest of the bloggers/twitter folk who run podcasts are just tedious. Its just more of the same i see every day on Twitter or in here. Dont need to listen to it in audio format. What sets TTC apart, is that they actually are people who work in entertainment business. They do not run the same circles as all the rest, they have opinions which they are able to present in a manner which doesnt make them sound like pricks or know-it-alls and they do not make every loss feel like a doomsday. Its just sad that they seem to pod much less frequently nowdays, could do with a pod once a week.

Don't really like the Arsecast unless there's quality guests like Amy Lawrence or Auclair. The Arsecast Extra however with Gunnerblog is excellent.

Episode 4 was a lot of fun.

Listened to the first episode in the gym today, quite liked it. The host has a good voice for radio. Went ahead and subscribed on iTunes.

Yeah the extra isn't too bad, its more straightforward, less bullshit about it.

My current podcast rotation is

sport: guardian football weekly, football ramble, times the game
non-sport: NPR politics, Alan Davies as yet untitled, no such thing as a fish, wait wait don't tell me.

If you guys know similarly themed shows worth following, please let me know.

Theres an Irish football podcast called Second Captains that is quite good. Just be sure to spot the difference between their general sport and football episodes if you try it.

If you like NPR politics I'd recommend Slates Political Gabfest and Vox's The Weeds. I find the Weeds especially good as they do a bit of the weeks politics and then look at more macro issues.

The New Yorker Politics and More is another good US politics podcast too.

On your other more general stuff there I'd recommend Invisibilia, another NPR one. Its kind of broad but I find it exceptionally well produced and usually really interesting.

I listen to a lot of TV, Film, comedy, beer, etc podcasts too.

That's the old podcast. I don't think Alan Davies is that interested in Tuesday Club anymore. His last show was April. He wrapped up the season before it was over, almost in disgust.
With As Yet Untitled, QI, and comedy tours, he's plenty busy. He's also one of those poor guys who took forever to realise that Wenger is a fraud, and he's been taking it quite badly this past season.

Oh yeah, Tuesday Club is definitely dying, if its not dead already (i do hope they return though). Last season being such a disaster was definitely a big reason for Alan and others in losing interest. They were starting to run out of all their good stories by now anyway and with no good football on show, they had no interesting content anymore.

Depends on their time too I'd imagine. Pretty obvious last year that Alan was the only one available regularly and you never know when he's going to have a new project on.

Not sure that even Alan had that much time. Keith and Ian were doing their thing on BT. Tayo has a radio show. Alan probably has quite a few projects going as well (he's touring abroad). Its a shame, they are fun and easy to listen to. I hope they dish out some stuff once a month or so this season.
