And if Chelsea winning forces the Arsenal higher ups to pull their fingers out of their asses then great. A part of our problem is that our main rival is a hapless loser and we get complacent. But if Roman's Chelsea were who we measured progress against then there would be some serious reflection done after each season. It's like United with Liverpool and City. Liverpool is who they historically measured themselves against (18 leagues 4 now 5 european cups). City got oil money and now they are worthy of United's attention, but the goal for Fungus is to surpass or match Liverpool's major trophy haul. Chelsea needs to be our Liverpool and Spurs our City.

and the hate for united was built when we were actually a great team ourselves and battling with them. that was good because we actually were measuring ourselves against an elite team and not some hapless loser who happens to be in the area. now we just want to finish ahead of spurs like that's some achievement. fuck them. i wish they were elite and would actually finish ahead of us sometimes and win the league or champions league. it seems like all the other london clubs fans are satisfied as long as no london team wins the european cup. yeah because responding to the marker that your rival laid down is the worse possible thing.

I am wondering what goes through Arsene's head when he sees our rivals reach finals, put out displays like this, sees them lift cups.

Chelsea and Pool both have atleast 2 final appearances to their name.

Yep. It's disgraceful if we have to rely on Chelsea losing the final to qualify for next season. Our final 3 games are against Stoke, Norwich and West Brom ffs. If we don't make 3rd it would be shameful.

I am not even talkking about the excuses here Biggus. We have all heard those.

What I am talking about here is, self respect, ambition, has he fallen so deep in the grave of his "project" that these things dont matter to him. Chelsea are very close to becoming the first London team to lift the CL. As a fan(not even from London), it makes me feel sick. Does Wenger not feel the same fucking way considering he has BEEN the club for the past decade.

It's things like these that make managers great. It just seems to me, he's lost that fire in the belly as they call it.
