True though! I don't see why we're at the stage of envying clubs with far worse recent records than ours - it's nonsensical. Might as well envy the Spuds who haven't won the league in fifty years.
Van Persie - too early?
Who's envying Liverpool?

No you don't understand mate, if we were beaten 2-0 you could say we had an off day and were still alive.
We lost 4-0, we were fucking ass raped, there is absolutely no point in us even showing up for the second leg, I'm not even going to bother watching it (Tomas), we have been eliminated.
Arteta at 'wide forward' again, Bigs?
Tim TJ Mackey wrote:Who's envying Liverpool?
Allow me to clarify: carrying on about Liverpool's recent Champions League record as if it was something an Arsenal supporter should give two shits about.
I thought we were talking about Liverpool's record to show that it is possible to fluke the CL? Maybe Biggus has his own agenda, not sure. Anyway, doesn't matter.
Yup. That's why I mentioned them Tim. Don't really get why Burns thinks anyone envies them.

May as well Pest, for all the good Gervinho and Theo will be.
That particular post must be the one you regret THE most in your posting history Bigs! I have this feeling it will be brought up from time to time for a LONG time...
Meh, Biggus made a mistake; let's hug it out and move on.
Someone misunderstood what I said and then people just decided to have a bit of fun, its boring around here till the Spuds game.
Class captain, Stood by every bit of his word today
Heres a bite size of his statement yesterday.
I REALISE there is lots of speculation about my future at the moment.
But, rest assured, the only thing in my mind right now is to get Arsenal Football Club back on track and finish the season strong.
I'm just thinking about Arsenal right now and nobody else.
I'm thinking about the here and now.
I'm thinking about beating Tottenham at home.
I'm thinking about a top-four finish to ensure there is Champions League football for Arsenal yet again next season.
That would be great.
And I'm thinking about an early goal against Milan and trying to pull off the improbable.
That would be incredible.
I'm thinking about how the Arsenal fans would love that.
How they'd deserve that after a really difficult season.
So I hope that makes things crystal clear. It's only about Arsenal Football Club.
A great football club with a great history, great traditions and huge expectations.
.
That statement is pretty pointless to be fair.
I Imagined Arsenal without van persie and chamakh playing in the starting XI.
I think now I understand how important is he for us
His goal today.
Assist for Theo's first was great as well.
he owned King. Love how he holds the ball up. Fantastic.
Oh, and his superb bit of skill near the center circle when he took on almost 5 players at one time. Around the 83rd minute. Brilliant.
RVP was amazing today, unlucky not to have scored a few more. Great performance though, worked so hard and was so classy in everything he did.
Nobody hits the woodwork more than him. It's incredible. Quality, quality goal though. Pure instinct, he coud have done the final part (the shot) blindfolded. Somebody needs to create a gif of that slow motion replay from behind him. Could watch it all day long.
His overall involvement in a game has improved so much in the last couple of years, he really is a complete striker, i so wish he had taken Ledley Kind on in that one on one towards the end.
Read somewhere he's suspended for 5 yellows. Can anyone confirm?
After Dec 31st you need 10 yellows to get a suspension so no he's not suspended.

I think I was in a state of shock and disbelief at that point, I just burst out laughing. Wouldn't mind seeing a clip or GIF of that if anyone has it.
I absolutely loved his part in Walcott's first goal too.
Just beautiful, does Scott Parker shake his fist in frustration at the end?
Someone needs to swat this twat Henry Winter even though the point he is trying to make is not wrong.
Wasn't it him and only him who said that Van Persie would be the only Arsenal player to get into a composite Arsenal - Spurs XI?
That article is ridiculous.
I thought it was rather fitting. For those who haven't read it- summary below.
Henry Vinter wrote:Lo! Van Persie, Robin Reliant, He of the Chocolate Leg, Destroyer of Spurs! Slayer of Obese Goalkeepers!
Alone, the Shining Beacon of the Arsenal of Dour Youth.
Unstoppable, He Conquers for the Cannons, Who Grovel at His Eternal Mercy. Bearer of the Key to Gooner Salvation. Repent, o Goonerdom!
Never thought the bloke was so old fashioned though.
Brilliant skill from Robin, if one thing he has really benifited from this injury free spell is that his power has improved significantly, he has always had the technique & skill, but being able to dominate people physically has really taken his game to another level. He is much more capable I'm the box now because of it.

Haha why has henry winter still got his job? that article about only van persie getting in spurs team alone should have got him the sack.

Is there really much of a difference between left footed and right footed players.
There's nobody better in the Premier League at dragging the ball and turning to create acres of space for himself.
Why didn't he come off in the 85th minute with a muscle strain against Spurs?
Claudius wrote:There's nobody better in the Premier League
Very hard to predict or dispossess of the ball our Robin. His movement is indeed exceptional. Always wiggles his way into that pocket of space necessary to get off a shot or pass. If he doesn't sign on, serious woe is us.
Anyone saying silva, bale or rooney have been better clearly have lost their sanity, robins been unplayable.
anyone got a gif of RvP making mugs of 4 scummy players in the second half?
IBL wrote:anyone got a gif of RvP making mugs of 4 scummy players in the second half?
They made themselves mugs! We've had some idiotic defending ourselves but I've never seen such schoolboy madness.
that rvp goal gets better every time iI watch it. thats our goal of the season so far
IBL wrote:anyone got a gif of RvP making mugs of 4 scummy players in the second half?
Even better - I've got a youtube clip:
funny because it started with a tired first touch from him
