Regardless of how we structure our midfield, we cannot rely on one player to create almost everything like we did with Cesc. So we need another real top class option in the front three who can do it on his own without waiting for the playmaker to deliver a perfect ball to him.

ramsey and wilshere in front of someone like m'vila could work eventually, but there are two problems: wilshere and ramsey are very young. it's too soon to be relying on those two to lead this team. second, there is no depth. diaby is a crock and rosicky past it. we need someone who can slot into am immediately.

If Walcott can stay fit this year I think he'll push Robin for goals. And I think Gervinho looks the business too. Its beyond that I start to worry, Arshavin 😐

Theo will get us goals. Of that I have not doubt. And Gervinho looks promising(although I'm a bit worried by his poor shooting). But I think we need 1 top class attacker to play on one side with either Theo/Gervinho/other-player-we-already-have on the other side.

We've not been realistically linked with any of that calibre and there are not many readily available.
You're talking Β£40m for a player like that?

Worth it, but I don't see it happening within the next 24 hours.

Wilshere can do a job for us for sure. Ramsey still needs time, I fear. Diaby and Rosicky can't be relied upon. So yeah Kel, two midfielders would be optimal. One like M'Vila and one more creative. That would also give us a lot of tactical possibilities and enable us to rest players more from time to time without weakening the team completely.

For instance against physically imposing teams, or teams that are really good going forward (Manchester City, for instance), you could play both Song and M'Vila in midfield to give us that extra bit of defensive stability and steel in the middle of the pitch, where I've personally seen us be run over too many times to count.

I am supposed to fly in the morning to London to speak with Chelsea and try to close a contract in one of the teams mentioned

That's exactly what will happen if we sign Benayoun.

haha gazza dont get my hopes up! (though part of me thinks hazard is not ready to bear so much responsibility, and we need someone who can be at van persie's level from day one)

i'm ready to declare this summer a failure. we've dumped some losers, but have pretty average players all over our squad now. this is a team with a ceiling of 4th place.

Of course its a failure, thats beyond question.

oh, i thought we were still trying... πŸ™

Yep, a failure it is. We're just trying to make the best of a woeful situation, while excising some of the dross

It's a big, fat failure. I can accept it if we actually sign some world-class quality to make up for what we've lost though. The fact that we haven't so far is the big problem. No one expects us to snatch players from Real and Barcelona, which means that we're gonna have to go for the tier just below: players who are on their way to become world class. Hazard is such a player. He's worth the effort even if there might be some friction to begin with. Signing players like him and GΓΆtze (or Banega or Kagawa or other players from that bracket) means that you've tried to make up for the creative quality you've lost. Nobody is asking for more. If we end this summer with Gervinho and Mertesacker as our marquee signings heads will have to roll though.

Arsene Wenger finally arrange make transfer of forward Eden Dangerous of 40m euros.

Arsenal destroy swap money record since small Soviet

Young Belgian will join up with leftover signings Park Football, Shitsacke, and Santos. Dangerous confused but resigned to fate

"I don't honestly remember signing the deal, it all happened so quickly while I was asleep last night. Arsene Wenger is a great man, and Arsenal are a club that plays in red and white in London. But after seeing a gif of Mertesacker dancing I just thought to myself "why not?", the place looks like it's worth a few laughs. And as to the speculation with Barcelona and Real, in the future only God knows"

Arsenal agent provocateur Phallic Lex said he was priapic with excitment at the deal. "I've been receiving death threats, hate mail, and strangely multiple copies of the movie Glengary GlenRoss. Hopefully this signing will give me some breathing room with the Arsenal supporters, both literally and figuratively. "

Dangerous is often said to be cousin of arousing virile Belgian Thomas Vermaelen, who spent months being treated well by tables last season.

I didn't think I'd fool anyone
