Gotta say I like Dempsey a lot. Not sure how I feel about wasting more money on squad depth though. We should put everything we have into signing a world-class midfielder instead.

For what it's worth Dempsey is a significantly better player than Arshavin, Rosicky and Diaby. Doubt there's any truth in it though. The bid for Götze indicates that we're trying to pull off a top-class signing in midfield which is what we bloody need at this point.
dempsey is great at arriving late into the penalty zone having won a foot race against the defensive line back, then top volleying it into the score bag following a great spin and serve from the wide receiver
Dempsey is fantastic, wouldn't mind him at all. But as you guys rightly point out, not top of list of priorities.
I like him, but only as a squad option.

This guy is a good player. I also think he is the kind of player who would improve massively with better players around him. Still think we need a big name though.
