Seriously though, I think it's a fair question:

Why have we left the signing of this guy so late?

(a) If we were waiting to see if Campbell got a work permit, that is scary because we were expecting someone with such minimal experience to step up and we were prepared to let this amount of time pass before the issue was resolved whilst potential targets are snapped up. More negligence from our joke of a club...

(b) If Park's signing was not dependent upon Campbell then why on earth have we left it this late? Chamakh is clearly well out of favour (Bendtner coming on against Pool) and we've taken an age to move for a player who seems to have garnered very little interest. Was he really ever high on our hit list or is this desperation?

But Bendtner hasn't left yet, I suspect it will be wrapped up before deadline day so, in this instance, that is exactly what we have done.

Just like the fact we've sold three senior players and only brought one senior player in.

With all due respect mate, I think the club are a bit more clued up on when Bendtner will leave than any one on here or any newspaper.

Fair but Wenger admitted in July that Bendnter was likely to leave. We're a big enough club to prepare for that by purchasing a ready-made replacement before he's sold and if we don't get him off our books this window, that's his problem. If anything, it'll make him more reasonable in his wage demands with other clubs once he realises he's not going to get any game time with us.

It's just bizarre that we're in a position where someone who clearly wants to leave is still a squad option for us (but that of course is a story for another thread).
