Alright. Let's sign some players now that actually want to play for Arsenal.
Adios Cesc
sucks, because it means we're not going to hit 70 pts in the league this year, but i dont feel any shock or grief at all. i was completely devastated when henry left.
Well thats that done. Time to sign a few players who'll win things at Arsenal.
Than goodness this is finally over. Anything in the press on what fee they settled for?
Now on to waiting on the signings that will never come...
£29m upfront right now plus £6m in various add ons.
Stitched up.

Couldn't stand the Barca fans shouting "Henleee Henleee"...clamouring for a photo.
At least we showed some class by wishing him well, scummy Southampton could learn a thing or two.
Cesc has made this happen and Wenger is no doubt seething. I remember Wenger saying in an interview last year, something close to "if they play with Fabregas they can do great things" - talking about the younger players in the squad. What a bloody shame.
I feel really bitter about it actually. Doesn't sit well with me that he about to have a shit load of success while we're heading into our most difficult period in years.
Said a couple of years ago that he would not leave until he lead us to some sort of success but i guess I was wrong.
Just annoyed by the low fee.

I hope we steal as many of their youth products as possible.

Feel the same and I said the same. I really thought he had more about him, and didn't think he'd want to go out on a season like the last one. Thought he would want to win something here as the captain and the leader for his pride more than anything.
Time to forget about him and move on I guess.
how about "if great players play with fabregas, the team can do great things"? that's wenger's problem right there. no one gives a shit about his pet projects, or whether making a signing kills denilson. just make the team win. he thinks fabregas is some sort of development aid? he's the best creative CM in the world, and we just sold him for a pittance.
Glad rvp is captain
Arsenal announcing it while Barca are playing a match has to be deliberate.

It was to highlight the regard Wenger had for Cesc. He will be devastated by this, and the fee, or rather the way Barcelona have bent us over a barrel, will have really killed him. Just hope he comes out fighting and with a new drive to succeed.
Well it's not as if Arsenal gave him any reason to stay. Too many years of lies.
In one year, both RvP and Theo will be in Nasri's situation. Has the club given them any reason to want to sign new contracts? No.
And I don't think RvP as captain is a good idea for several reasons.
Reasons to stay?
There were a few.
He got treated like a demi god by this club.
He was given opportunities and honours that few players get at his age.
He was happy enough to sign a long term contract and become our best paid player but when the going got tough he wanted out.
Not only that but he put us in a situation where we had no choice but to sell him for a stupidly low fee.
The reason he left was purely because Barcelona are currently the best team in Europe and that's where he's from, that's where he wants to be.
Unfortunate circumstances dictate that the club he came from are in the ascendancy just around the time we're suffering and he's hitting his prime.
The only reason I'd have for not making RVP captain is that the armband seems to be some kind of curse these days.
catalconspiracy Julián Palacios
Good timing for this again: Fabregas came to Arsenal at 16, but viewed as Barca product. Puyol, Pedro and Busquets all came to Barca at 17.
Found that interesting. Cesc should be very grateful for everything Arsenal have done for him, and I'm sure he is.
Well we sold him for cheap and that's what you get when you only have 1 team in the market.
But Wenger won't spend super money for super quality so i guess this price is in line with his beliefs right?
Thank god it's done. Now use that money Wenger.
Cesc: thanks for some good memories but there's no way i'm going to wish Barca any luck in anything.
