Think there was a thought in the back of his mind yesterday that he did not want to miss out on the game on Wednesday. Played slightly within himself. It's easy to do your ankle or knee on a shockingly crap pitch like that, too.

The main issue on saturday was that he had 2 men on him the entire game. Not many teams would you see that not only the full back but the winger also did a lot of defensive work. He won't be up against too many teams that play like that plus he's going to get better as well.

Im quietly confident that he'll deliver on wednesday.

Uninspiring performance by an 18 year old in his 4th start after being our best player overall in his first 3. Won't even apply my mind to this one.

as sabre said, it was a good learning experience for the kid. he'll learn takiing on his man isnt always the best option.

Doesn't matter if the team keeps giving him the ball despite the fact that he's marked by two opponents. We should have found an alternate route in the final third but we were unimaginative and slow. If it wasn't for Szczesny we probably would've lost the game.

i would quantify that.. the LB position is their main weakness. Abate has come on leaps and bounds the last 2 seasons, and he's as fast as Theo (well, almost)

Hardly. He played most of the first half of the season and we were much worse off for having him in the side. 1 good cross doesn't make up for that.
