He made 50 odd appearances for Arsenal by the age of 19 and bossed Juventus and Madrid, Biggus. And this was in a position where very few young players come through at his age, he is up there with Rooney and Messi as the best young player to come through this decade. In fact, Fabregas pre-2008 was a better player than he is now imo.

Let's not re-write history for Fabregas like you did with Wenger.

Cesc was a phenomenon, but a real connoisseur's player. It took me a couple of seasons to truly appreciate his contribution beyond the odd wonderpass and his obvious elegance on the ball.

For me, Chamberlain belongs into the same category Fabregas, Wilshere and Szczesny did before him. They're all players who have had that undeniable quality from the beginning. Destined to do what they do I suppose.

Don't want to jump the gun on Gnabry (need to see more), but he looks at least a candidate to join that group of special players.
Last guy we had that caught my attention as much was Jay Emmanuel-Thomas. Anyone remember him? Feck me he was amazing. Still bitter about that one, especially after Wenger waxed lyrical about him in an interview like there was no tomorrow. Plays for Ipswich now. 🙁

JET had all the ability you need to succeed and none of the character. I doubt he'll ever make a start for England.

He'll grow up one day and become a very good player. He has actually scored 5 in 3 for Ipswich and is reportedly doing well, so maybe he's starting to mature.

Not sure if it was a question of character or life-style. Maybe a little bit of both.

Don't care about England to be honest, but the fact he didn't make it for Arsenal hurts :gah:😆. He could have been a boss. Had a browse and here is one of the goals Ricky mentioned him score. You can't teach that. Another ok sort of compilation (including first goal) here.

Such a shame really. But yeah...Alex. 🙂

I thought so too, particularly when it was the second horrific break that he had witnessed and he suffered his own injury shortly afterwards.
