i know it's arsenal we're talking about, but our injury situation is extreme even for us. we have a good squad that just needs a few tweaks (1-2 huge purchases and 5-6 sales of deadwood).
as for park, i can't think of another logical explanation. he's a pretty average player, but you'd think he'd have gotten more than 0 minutes of playing time given the form of chamakh and arshavin. given how quickly things happened at the end of the window, is it not beyond the realm of possibility that the board signed off on a transfer without wenger's consent? we'd just lost fabregas and nasri, and maybe the board feared backlash over insufficient replacements in the form of mertesacker, gervinho and chamberlain.
and of course wenger would flip out, that's why he's continued to play a striker who almost literally never faces the goal and is incapable of shooting.
