I remember watching that pre-season game Man U had v Sporting Lisbon thinking we should do everything within our power to sign this kid. He absolutely killed it. Since apparently several Man U players came up to Fungus on the plane back saying the same thing, I can´t be totally wrong.

There's a difference between having bags of potential and being one of the three best young players in Premier League history. Ronaldo wasn't that good. He struggled a bit to find a clear role before Ferguson started to play him as a striker off the wing.

There were games when he first came to Man U where things worked for him and he looked amazing. Then there were of course plenty of games where he just looked like a show pony with zero end product. I´ll give you that.

He looked very impressive at times. Players like Owen (though I don't personally care for him) and Fowler were scoring for fun at the same age though.

Bolded part just isn´t true though. I think I am pretty close to the truth in what I actually wrote thank you very much.

It took Ronaldo three seasons to start playing well, it was basically after the 2006 World Cup. He basically had the career Reyes was supposed to have.

I agree with Dules, Owen was the better teen, Fowler never did it on the international scene.

After the Brazilian Ronaldo, the best young striker I had ever seen was Adriano, real shame what happened to him.
