He certainly looks good on those youtube clips; direct, two footed, well balanced and technically astute with the ability to pass and cross a good ball.

No need to generalise. There was no reason to have that opinion of him in the first place. He is well grounded by his father who was also a proffessional football. His Dad is the reason why he's at Arsenal and not at the likes of Man City or Utd.

To be fair, for every Senderos, Thuram or Walcott there are about a dozen uneducated, arrogant, spoilt brats in the world of football.

Not sure what you guys are implying above, but it's quite clear all IBL thought is he's a your typical young, dumb footballer - as most of them are.

He seems a genuinely intelligent and confident lad, unlike someone like Theo, who is well educated and well spoken, but came across as, well, a bit thick when he first joined the club.

I don't remember Theo's first interviews, but these days he's probably the best ambassador we have for the club. Not the only one, but he's a true pro.

Problem I have, well, more had, with Theo, is he speaks in constant clichés. It was maddening. I think it was a case of him being told what to say, coached from a pretty early age, so as a result coming across as unnatural when under pressure.

He's definitely grown up a fair bit though, and was a star by all accounts in Asia this past summer. He definitely talks a good game now.

Wilshere isn't a bad talker either. And he's a bit less robotic in his speeches than Theo.

Talk is cheap anyway. Words are wind- well spoken or not. Same ease with which they come out the mouth, they can also come out the arse. Our players have been talking wind since 2006.

As pleasant as Theo is we still dont have anyone is the current team as charming and charismatic as the likes of Henry and Bergkamp. Damn those invincibles were better at everything.

In a few years we'll have a really special bunch, in every sense. Szczesny, Bartley, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Frimpong, Ramsey, Wilshere, Lansbury, Walcott, Ryo, Chamberlain, Afobe, and one or two others, will have all gown up together and will all have won a load of trophies together. 🙂

I never thought Theo was stupid, just a bit shy and nervous.

There was an interview done with Theo and Cesc a couple of years ago where Cesc teased Theo about how he never talked during his early time at the club. It took him quite a while to come out of his shell. And we've that reflected on the pitch as well.

really? he's better now than he was at first but it's hard not to improve on that first post emirates sky interview a few years back.

Wilshere sounds pretty ignorant. The only guys who give me absolute confidence when they are talk are Fabregas and van Persie, and one of them is about to sod off to Catalunya
