I do think though that a large part of our defensive chaos can be solved by coaching, not buying.

The ratio of goals scored against goal conceded is the only important thing.

We have to play a much more open, attacking game to score the same number of goals we did on '04, playing much more compactly and with much more defensive discipline. In other words; our attack isn't anywhere near as good.

I really care but I don't really care anymore where we end up in the final placings, if that makes any sense.
We were a pathetic sorry lot today, an absolute shambles of a team effort, though almost saved again by van Persie.
Insane that we'd be in the position to have to score four goals for a home win.
Soul sapping to have to watch it.

Beginning to think that the ignominity of the Europa league is the punch in the face our skinflint management need.
I don't wish for it, I don't want it but in a way I think it's about where we are as regards the standard of our squad.

If we do manage to get cl football it will be down to luck and van persie rather than the quality of the team, meanwhile wenger will keep yapping on about diaby returning from injury to make the team great again.

I know this is hard to see now, especially given how far Liverpool has fallen, but finishing outside the top 4 might just be the wake-up call Stan's franchise needs. Otherwise, we will continue to aim for 67 points indefinitely.
