3rd is a must regardless. the qualifier is getting more difficult with each passing year. before it was a cake walk, now we run the risk of playing a team from a big league. 3rd is the new 4th.

There is no way in hell we should be starting our season without the goal of lifting the PL and the CL.

'Focus on the cups' is just a thing fans say when they reset their expectations around the half-season mark after it becomes apparent we're not at the required level to last in the endurance races.

To do that we would need a better squad, which would mean more money pumped into it.
They don't seem willing to do it, they had the perfect chance this summer and bought a handful of good/average players.

Actually, I think you would rather that Bayern won it to teach Wenger a lesson. Bayern, due to Bundesliga regulations, live within their means. But some means. They make tons of merchandising and sponsorship revenue, and have spent it on bringing in stars like Ribery and Robben, and recently gave Gomez a big bump to make sure he stays in Munich. That's who you want to win, Biggus. We can't learn anything from Chelsea. What are we going to do? Drop $80M on Aguero?

It's not quite that straight forward. They spend by far the most of any team in Germany and barely scraped champions league qualification last season.

Genuine question, just out of curiosity, considering you have probably seen more football than anyone else on this forum, who do you personally think has been the greatest 'side/ team' (not club) in football history, or atleast in your time of watching football?
