I'd say Mata and Drogba for Chelsea. Even Sturridge is playing well. The other top clubs are Spurs and Mancunian ones.
I don't think Liverpool have a hope in hell of making Top 4. The only player I'd take from them is that diver Suarez. They wasted a lot of money.

I think you're being extremely kind to Chelsea. Mata has been immense but they're just as likely to collapse with an injury and/or the departure of Drogba to the ACN.

Drogba was reportedly diabolical against Wigan, and I don't agree Mata has been "immense".

Sturridge is the one consistently producing for them right now, but not anywhere close to the level of Robin for us.

Sturridge plays the same position as Theo. And he's scoring a lot of goals for them.

I've been encouraged by what Gervinho and Theo bring to the team in terms of pace and directness, but I'm getting a little impatient waiting for them to start contributing with goals.

Sturridge does, however, look very uncomfortable playing wide.

I'm still not getting the negativity around us. We have done all the grounds that should cause us the most problems, except Liverpool. And Stoke. And we're fifth. Or sixth. Whatever it is, we're well within striking distance of the top 3 and for all the Spurs bumlicking that's going on- does anyone seriously expect them to get anything other than a couple of draws (at best) out of trips to the Bridge, Eastlands, Anfield and our place? Really?

Yesterday showed that we do lack a little bit of top quality, but we still ran the best side in the country pretty close. If we can play like that for the rest of the season, despite having no fit full backs and missing our top midfielder, then we're going to have a good 2012.

Unless Robin gets injured and we don't sign a striker worth the name in January.

Time will tell if they can handle the pressure but they look good at the moment. Hopefully they will drop points in the second half of the season.'

As Y va said in another thread we don't need Ozil we need someone to put away the chances, and my mouth waters at the thoughts of a 4-4-2 with a proper striker and RvP in the Bergy role.

I just don't understand that line of reasoning. You want a player in the Bergkamp role? Look no further than Özil. That guy would give us a real shot at the league title. van Persie has never been particularly good when he's been deployed deeper. He's one of the best centreforwards in the world but mediocre in the linkup role. Why would anyone want to move him away from goal?

Drogba shows that when he has a point to prove he can turn it on at will.
He'd be some signing but he's already said that money alone will dictate where he goes next hasn't he?

I wouldn't want to move Robin away from goal but I do think whoever we bring in to strengthen our attack has to be a goal scorer as well as a creator.

The next 2 weeks will be a good test for all the teams gunning for 3rd and 4th. We need to bounce back with a couple of wins.

You can only set up 30 goals if there is someone to stick 'em in. We need another scorer in there. Oezil is not enough of a scorer for me to be the priority, but if you can ge thim, he's too good to pass up.

Neither of Gerv or Theo are scoring the goals they should be. Like the time when Gerv went 1 on1 with kolo, IMO he should have taken him on and tried to score instead of stopping to engage others. our wide forwards need to have goal scoring instincts, need to be selfish, too much 'pass to robin' for my liking. playing 3 forwards is the reason Ramsey is lost as we are constantly looking at flanks for runs and he has to do so much in the MF. if we had a proper wide MF in place of either gerv or Walcott, Ramsey would have benefited in the number 10 role.

So we either need goals from theo/gerv OR more/better wide forwards OR a proper number 10. Ramsey is anywaz more of a box to box CM for me than a AM.
