Over the last few years, we've got a well documented history of fading in the second half of the season, but we've usually had the platform of a strong first half to rely on to get ourselves across the line.
If we fade that way because of the way the squad's prepared fitness wise - a possibility - then perhaps we're in danger.
On the other hand, the fact we had an altered preseason might actually herald a change in the side's circadian rhythm. Perhaps we'll pick up and sustain our form.
It's hard to say, but looking at us sitting in fifth, miles off top with the clubs around us doing just as well as we are, it's idiocy not to be somewhat worried about "the prize".
A lot will depend on the mood of the squad coming out of Jan-Feb into the home stretch. I hope the psychological effects of bowing out of the CL and FA Cup - assuming that we do - won't be too disastrous for once.
