Finally some decent football. Tournament is being held in Argentina, who haven't won the Copa for over 15 years, and whose record at the World Cup has been rubbish for about 20 years.

It's half-time in the opening game Argentina vs. Bolivia, and the Argies still look like underachievers. Their centre midfield is superb - Cambiasso, Macherano, Banega, but Tevez being played on the flank looks like a mistake, Dia Maria should be there. Messi has flickered intermittently.

This tourney will be a good chance to get a look at all these players who have become transfer fodder of late - Sanchez, Pastore, Vidal, Banega, Neymar, Falcao et al

Ha, 1-0 Bolivia, brilliant back heel directly from a corner. Argies look stumped.

EDIT 1-1 - Stunning volley by Aguero after being on the pitch for only 3 minutes

Brazil game about to start. If you're in States, Univison is showing it.

robinho
ganso

neymar
pato

excited to see how those front 4 work together

Surprising even a poor team like Venezuela can be quite decent technically

though Brazil were a little wasateful up front, and lacked a bit of precision in the first half. some nice moments from Ganso and Neymar. Pato came closest to scoring with a bolt that rattled the goal posts, and Ramires had the pass of the game, lobbing th eball half the length of the field into Pato's path.

we need more Brazilian influence in our team :-) (and not of the Denilson variety)

Yeah agreed. Neymar could easily be another Robinho in the making, too flashy for his own good at times. Ramires is really a pointless player though, shouldn't be anywhere near the Brazil first team.

Hope Wenger is watching Ganso. Real gem.

Excellent defensive display from Venezuela. Specially the 2nd half was terrific. Proud of the lads.

Hey, guys, if you want to see the players Arsenal will not be buying this summer, watch today's Copa America games

Uruguay - Peru
Cavani, Forlan, Lodeiro will be on display

Mexico - Chile
Sanchez and Vidal on display.

Enjoy.

Watching Peru - Uruguay. Fun game so far. The technical ability of these teams is excellent. Everyone is good on the ball, the passing is crisp, excellent movement. A joy to watch this kind of football.

Uruguay are dark horses for this copa. Suarez, Forlan, Cavani is a superb front line

Suarez scores after some stunning passing to make it 1-1 on the stroke of half time

They're third favourites. 😆

Watching Mexico vs Chile. Once again Mexico is very decent for a u23 side. Scored first but now Chile comes back to lead 2-1. Fantastic header from Vidal.

I like the looks of Isla as well

I'm very pleased with the results so far. Chile deserved a lot more, but Borghi is horrible at organising teams' defenses.

Venezuela have never really been that bad.

Oh they have...

They are on the up now that Chavez injected a lot of patriotism (and resources) in the country, but this generation is one of the first generations of Venezuelan kids who would consider buying a kit from their own country.

They all followed Baseball if I remember correctly.

Always rate Venezuela and Bolivia as they 2 worst teams of South America. Generally no hopers when it comes to qualifying for world cup.

Dont even have any names we have heard before in their team. Maybe only Arango and Moreno

For anybody who isn't watching, do try to catch the games. The quality of the play has been good. Some special stuff on display

It's on too late here mate.

Have only been impressed by Chile so far; the rest have been sub-standard.
