Take it with a pinch of salt, John Cross reckons we're trying to sing Mata for £15M, but NOT as a direct replacement for Samir Nasri.

Given Wenger's comments today on only wanting to sign "one or two" more players, I think this story might be BS. Reckon we're in for Gervinho and maybe another defender, and that's it. Business as usual...

What he says doesn't matter.

He's said that before and brought in anything between zero and five players.

Agreed, watch what he does, not what he says. For instance completely ignore the ramifications of him saying it'll be a "big summer". Wenger's actions are largely determined by how well his parameters fit the available players and selling opportunities in the market, not by whatever he describes his intentions as being.

Well Wenger has said we signed Gervinho last Thursday, and he said he wanted one or two more players after that so fingers crossed he meant one or two more than Gervinho.

If we could get a good centreback and a good midfielder - Cahill and Vidal would be about as good as that gets - and keep Cesc and Samir, I'd consider that a very good summer.

I'd rather have Mata than Vidal, truth be told. I'd even sell Arshavin to make room for him if it comes down to it, even though I prefer to see him stay. We need a squad that is packing more punch.

Mata and Cahill will tie up our summer activity, maybe a youngster or two.

A very disappointing summer. Very disappointing. We won't win anything again with Rosicky Diaby still here tbf. As long as we don't sell and replace them and sort out Cesc/Nasri situation PROPERLY.

Not to mention Traore and Gibbs as LB

Out of curiosity, what would you deem an adequate transfer window? To me that looks all right. I'm no big fan of Cahill, and I don't particularly think we need another centre back. I don't know much about Vidal, but I did want another midfielder capable of challenging Song for his place.

I also want a new left back, but if Wenger thinks Gibbs is ready, I'm willing to trust him on that. Nothing would make me happier than seeing a local lad who's been at the club since 15 or something, make it for us.

I am looking for a Marquee signing. Benzema, Hazard kind. Its the last season we can spend before the FFP kicks in, Wenger promised big things, yet he only delivered Gervinho. A LB is a necessity as well, I can't stress that enough.

I can't believe we will let ourselves go into the season even weaker than last season in certain areas.

Signing a LB and a striker are absolutely crucial now. Our defence isn't the best, and another CB would be ideal too, but the likes of Vidal and Mata are a million miles down the list of important signings.
