If that's the case, you would have to assume Chelsea have paid more than the £23.5M that's being reported.
Hunter also reckons that Chelsea are paying €4 million more than we offered, so £23.5 is probably about right.

Judging by the chain of events I dont think Mata ever had a straight choice between us and Chelsea. We had an offer rejected and subsequently Chelsea have gone in.

i'm suspecting that means modric is staying at spurs. i hope mata will suck due to his tinyness, but from what i've read of his personality, i think he's going to do really well for chelsea. he's at the perfect age for a signing, too.
