The thing is Rossi is at least twice as more accomplished and for me is definitely is the better player while Sanchez has played a key role for his country in a World Cup and is also more highly rated Klaus. Mata looked destined for big things about 2 or so years ago but it kind of says it all that he's still in the U21s after all this time at the age of 23/24. Granted Spain are the world champions and have some of the best players in the world, but if he was that good he would have got a lot more often than the 5 or 10 games he's ever played for them (including subs).
That's not to say Mata isn't a good player, he just seemed to stagnate a bit over the last couple of seasons, possibly as a result of the decline of Valencia.
