I call bullshit on this one. A lot of Arsenal fans feel betrayed by seeing our top players leave and think that belittling them makes it hurt less, but it only makes them look bitter.

I don't blame Cesc for leaving and neither do I blame Nasri for not extending his contract. Top players want to win trophies AND get paid well.

RVP is a totally different situation, primarily because I think he feels as if he owes Wenger and the club something. A lot of people doubted his character before coming to Arsenal, but Wenger stood up for him. When you include the fact that we were patient with his injury woes, you get the feeling that he does in fact have an attachment to the club.

How on earth have Nasri and Fabregas been "constantly pissing on and belittling" Arsenal? Most fans these days don´t believe we will ever win again under Wenger, so why should the players that are in the mix every day? Take that fact and add to it that we don´t even pay top wages. Why on earth should a player who is good enough to play for a club where he will earn more money AND have a better chance at winning trophies want to stay?

What exactly have Cesc or Nasri done or said this summer that has been so awful? In my mind - nothing.

If RVP stays healthy this season he will have plenty of suitors next summer. RVP is also 29 years old now, and his next contract will likely be his last big one. If Wenger doesn´t act fast NOW and gives him and the likes of Walcott a reason to believe in this squad I am convinced we will be in the exact same position next summer that we currently are in with Nasri. Both Walcott and RVP would be idiots to sign extensions now. They will at least wait a couple of months to see where we are.

Arsenal DOESN´T show enough ambition.
Arsenal DOESN´T invest enough in the squad.
Arsenal is NOT really competing for titles.
Arsenal IS getting further behind its competitors.

In any case, I disagree. I'm all for supporting your club and it's players and being biased towards and overrating them(I'm guilty of the same thing), but we shouldn't fall to a place where everything that is not pro-Arsenal is immediately evil and untrue. As Rex correctly pointed out, the management of the club has not been perfect in the last couple of years and it has an effect on the players. It does not excuse the players for behaving like cunts(if they do, some don't), but it's naive to think that it's just the players that are cunts and everything about the club is fine.
