Sure, but then it doesn't matter if he's riding the rest of the season out on the bench or in the physio room.

It's not about Barcelona or Arsenal now, someone needs to get hold of Cesc, shake him by the collar and tell him he's going to do his best or spend the next couple of years in disgrace. At which point Barcelona could well go off him. I don't think Cesc is a nut like Balotteli so I don't expect him to behave unreasonably anyway. He's just a bit irritating with his whole 'undying love' for Barcelona act.

As for Nasri, sell him for anything above 15m..

No, he wouldn't. Ferguson faced a similar situation with Ronaldo and played him for the entire season, every time he was fit.

General Mirth = True Gooner. Had no idea.

We need to raise our status, or the club will die a slow painful death. After a summer of losing Cesc and Nasri, we'll have cemented our place as a stop-over point for youngsters and average players looking to get into the shop window.

I don't buy the logic that Cesc was "leaving anyway", and there wasn't anything we could do to stop it. We've hastened his departure by several years with our repeated underachievement. Nasri is out for number one, in terms of individual honours and wages. We offer neither, and have done nothing this summer to convince anyone we're heading for anything but 4th next season, so I don't blame him for agitating for a move.

As long as we have our two defenders by saturday, I'm not all that bothered.

Nasri has played second team for most of pre-season and Cesc hasn't played at all; the disruption is minimal.
