Lol. Back to Nasri. Watching Premier League top 10 goals of the season. It's a travesty only one of his two goals against Fulham made the list, and even then it was only no 7. Those were remarkable goals

I'm wondering if Mancini's comments regarding Nasri mean that we are actually in secret negotiations with City and will indeed sell him off to them in the next couple of weeks.

Eh? Where have I ever said that?
He found a situation in the club and in the league and he exploited it to the best of his abilities and I applauded him for it.
The facts are he achieved wonderful success in the first 8 years, the facts are also that he's achieved fuck all in the last 5.
But we have other threads to discuss this in.

What Wenger created was special.

Here you still subtly underplay his role in growing Arsenal's footprint globally.

The commonly used refrain would be he didn't win the CL, he didn't win back to back titles and yet that would just be nitpicking because we were privileged to watch those teams and the football they played. He created those teams.

I don't give a fig to be 'extolled by neutrals, fans of other clubs, pundits, commentators etc etc', I'm an Arsenal supporter and I just want this team to win- I don't care what kind of football we play so long as it's winning.
We were indeed privileged to watch Arsenes Arsenal 1998-2006, but from 2007 on it's all been forgettable substandard rubbish.

You staunchly defended Arsene on the other forum in 2007-08 till he let Flamini go on a free 😉

It is just agonising seeing you not give him due credit for his success back then only because of the indigation developed over the past 3 seasons.

I'm not completely insane, of course I gave him credit for his wonderful achievements in the early years, i don't know where this myth came from.
Yes he had some luck with the players he inherited but every winner has some -God knows Fergi has had the devils own luck enough times.

tell us, arsene, what is the secret to finishing 4th in the league, with the league's 4th highest player expenditure? how do you not win any trophies year after year, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory due to the same errors and weaknesses, and not get sacked? what is your secret?!

no one took him seriously here until he won. winning a title with grampus eight doesnt matter, and the monaco stuff happened 15 yrs ago in a smaller league.

i thought you were, too. you take away his achievements with arsenal pre-2005 and his cv is no better than dozens of managers out there.

he was once one of the best managers out there. he's had quite a long dry spell now. where we differ is that i say his dry spell is down to him and not bad luck, he won't win anything else with arsenal and that he's living on his reputation, whereas you don't.

He's in demand as a speaker because he oversees a team that is competitive and sits at the top table every season on a smaller budget than his peers. He persistently digs up 'unknowns' and makes them realise their potential and his team play some of the best football in the world.

That video shows exactly what I was thinking whilst I was watching the match. He's not fit to lace Fabregas' boots as a playmaker, I can't genuinely believe anyone would say otherwise, but watching him did remind me what an absolute quality footballer he is. Play him wide and he'll be brilliant next season. Such amazing close control.
