If you can muster the enthusiasm tells us what you think about nasri's contract renewal.

Good player who faded at the back end of the season. Worth splashing out on a new contract or is it a good opportunity to bring in someone else?

I'd love to believe that if Nasri were to leave that we'd sign a player from the wish list but in recent times Wenger has not replaced high profile departures with quality signings.
I can't see him doing so in this instance either.

Cue a list of possible replacements that will make us all wail.

For that reason alone I'd keep Nasri but also I do rate him as a player and don't think we can afford to keep culling our best while we make do with the mediocre.

Yep keep. We need wenger to add quality players not just replace

Say he's looking for 100k and we're offering to pay 90. Surely its better to pay that extra bit than take another step backwards. Who are we going to sign that is better than/equal to Nasri for less money especially considering he has only 12 months on his contract left and we won't get full value for him? Just drop Rosicky or somebody without a replacement if thats what needs to be done - because we all know if Nasri goes we won't bring in a better player.

Arsenal are ridiculous. We need not bend over to all players' demands, but Samir Nasri is worth 100,000 pounds. He will easily make much more than that at United or Liverpool, the more or less normal competitors we have.

But more than anything, for me, it's about what Y Va said. We cannot afford to keep culling from the top end of the team. It's why we are running on the spot

Maybe it's not just all about the money with Nasri?
He may just be disillusioned with our whole set-up?

Ultimately we can't afford not to give him what he wants.

But Gazidis has some questions to answer. He's gone on and one about how important all the new contracts he's been handing out are. Yet he fails to secure one of our most expensive players(in terms of what we paid) with one of the highest potential values(in terms of what his worth can be). Huge mistake.

As for Nasri, he still has a lot to prove IMO. He had a good 6 months after 2 years of not really delivering. He now has to step up and play at a higher level consistantly.

Give the geezer what he wants.

Just pay him.

I think that's the more likely scenario as well. Which is why we should have sorted his contract out well before the season had started, and failing that - sold him while he still had any transfer value. You don't get much for a player with 12 months to go on his deal.

My feeling is that it's almost exclusively about money.

Nasri "I don't know if I will sign a new contract...Do I want to go to Man United? First, we see if it's real and if it is concrete."

Idiot.

Where is the quote from?

Great!

Also said that "discussions were ongoing", though.

When I grow up, I want to be a footballer's agent.

Cheeky fucker. I'm seriously starting to dislike Nasri.

As I said previously, if he really wants to go to United then he can fuck off.

And like Tim, I think it's 100% about the money, in fact, not even the money itself, it's the principle, he wants to be on par with our highest earners because he considers himself as good as they are.
