Does he put in a shift off the ball? To me he sounds like exactly the sort of player Barcelona need on the wings. Also means Iniesta goes back in the middle and less game time for Cesc.

And Sanchez's game hasn't been affected by Barcelona's style, he's just a little one dimensional as a footballer.

Completely agree with this. Cesc has had a very tough time adjusting to the discipline and rigour that Barcelona expect off their midfield players. Messi and, to some extent, the wing backs are the only players who have lot of freedom in that team.

Neymar has had it easy in Brazil and doesn't sound like a player who'd thrive in such a setting.

While I agree with all the points said about how Neymar would fit in with the CURRENT Barca team, has anyone thought that maybe signing Neymar will signal a slight shift in their playing style/philosophy? Pep is gone. Xavi is getting older. I could see them shifting to a more dynamic attacking style that is anchored less in the tika taka short passing possession game and playing more to their strengths with Cesc and Iniesta as attacking midfielders looking for Neymar and Messi off the wings. This would also be able to accommodate Alexis as he has looked lost at times too. Just a thought!

Neymar needs to be "the man" on a team. He shouldn't be shackled in Barca. Real Madrid could be a career killer as well (see Canales, Sergio). Go to Monaco, PSG, Arsenal to play football and stay away from those circuses.

makes me sick that bayern is getting goetze and lewandowski. the message it sends is, don't even try anymore. we just bought your best young player for 40m and he's sitting on our bench. anything you build, we will destroy it.

dortmund have little margin for error now, as eriksen needs to hit the ground running, and they need to find a top striker.

It's not like they're going to take them and dump them on the bench. Any team in Europe would take them too so i don't see the problem. Dortmund could easily just reject the offers if they wanted to...

They don't really need Götze, but buying a promising young player like him coming off the season they have had is certainly a signal to the squad - no room for complacency or you will ride the pine. Look at what a few months on the bench has done for Robben! He has never worked as hard for a team as in the last few months.

Also interesting hearing from a man deeply involved in Bayern's affairs that buying Götze had nothing to do with Pep. Not how Bayern roll to let the manager decide on transfers.

Can see Goetze more than Lewandowski tbh. Robben and Ribery havnt got much left in the tank imo. One of them may even be off this summer.

But up front they have just bought Mandzukic and they also have Gomez.

They don't need them at all. They already have Mandzukic who is having a brilliant season for them, not sure if Lewandowski will be an upgrade for their system if what they want is a target man. Not to mention they will have Gomez on their books, who they bought for 35m.

Then, they have Robben, Shaqiri, Kroos, Ribery, Mueller, 5 top players for just 3 midfield positions. Its because Dortmund have riled them all over the last 2 seasons by winning the title despite spending little that they decided to activate Gotze's 37m clause.

Lets just hope Dortmund replace them adequately and win the title to show Bayern is not all about money. They already gave Bayern a great game yesterday despite losing Gotze to injury and Kagawa to Utd at the start of the season.

Meanwhile, Neymar signs for Barca. (worse kept secret in world football, known for ages since years ago)
