He plays as a left winger, but whether it's left midfield or left forward, it's much of a muchness. He sure as shit wouldn't start as a left sided midfielder or forward for Barcelona, not in a month of Sundays. If he did, he stand out like a sore thumb.

A wide forward at Barcelona is a completely different position to a winger at Tottenham. Having seen him 10+ times you would know that.

i agree, bale is exactly the kind of player barca would want at left back

This is so pointless. I might as well be arguing about whether steam trains are better than electric trains. As in I don't care. 😆

I should take Yuv's advice and stop talking about the shit stains of North London.

It's not pointless at all, we are in the transfer business at other clubs thread discussing the potential transfer business of another club (revolutionary, I know). And no, we aren't talking about Tottenham, we are talking about Bale.

Fact is that Barcelona play, literally, with strikers wide and Bale isn't a striker; he's a flying winger, the type of player that they deploy at fullback.

Sorry, it's not pointless for you or anyone else who's interested, but it's a discussion I have no interest in having, but am for some reason. Over and out.

Exactly Rick, fuck Barcelona- they're cunts, and fuck Tottenham too.

It is pointless, but mainly because Capi is right: Bale and Alves have fairly similar traits and Bale would be, if anything, a fullback at Barcelona.

Anyone who follows Italian football, any news on De Rossi's contract? I thought he was in the same situation as Van Persie in that he had a year left this summer, but his contract's up in june! Cant believe that. If he aint gonna sign surely Roma will sell him in jan? He's a £25 million footballer!

Tim: No change so far. Things are really tense at Roma at the moment. Totti has hinted that he might leave at the end of the season too.

If I were to guess I'd say that they're just trying to put pressure on the club. It's obvious that there is some kind of schism between the boardroom and the ultra support that extends to some of the players. De Rossi will sign eventually and Totti will stay.

De Rossi is a no go. He either stays or goes to Man City. Those are the only two options IMO.

Wow. Either you are De Rossi himself or his very best friend. I mean - how else can you speak so categorically about what goes on in this man´s head?

Liked him before he went to Juve. Not like he has suddenly become a poor player is it? He needs a new club for sure, and if used correctly he will be a very good signing for someone.

So glad we didn't sign him. Really dodged a bullet there.

No, he's exactly the same player and that's basically the problem. Hasn't developed an inch in Italy. We think Gervinho is frustrating but it's nothing compared to Krasic. He has one trick which is to outrun his opponents. Not a coincidence that Juve look like world beaters with him on the bench. Last year he was their best attacking player because every move went through him, yet he only had seven goals to show for it.
