Well we at least know that we bid £8M for Jones last summer - confirmed by Blackburn themselves. So we know there is a genuine, pre-existing interest there.
If talk of the £16M release clause is true, at least that gives us a fighting chance of not getting blow out of the water by City, United and possibly free spending Liverpool, and not being able to get an offer accepted to talk to him. Although they could offer him absurd amounts a week, he'd probably get no more than about 50 or 60K here, but I think Wenger knows this kid is the real deal. Just what we need long term.
