Read he is on £6mill a year there as well, wouldn't be surprised he has chosen to stay in Germany as it is a world cup year so he wouldn't have to settle in and like you say maybe a release clause to get out next year.

Just don't see why he would sign a five year contract at a club like Wolfsburg. Maybe just greed but he could have gone to loads of good clubs and probably even a good one in Germany like Schalke or Leverkusen.

By all accounts we didn't even bid for him.

I don't rate Willian, but if we end up not signing any meaningful player I would be pissed even Liverpool signed someone promising like him. Anzhi is just crazy, absolute nuts. They have sold 4 of their first teamers in a matter of days, Shatov to Zenit, Denisov, Zhirkov and Kokorin to Dinamo Moscow, with Kokorin only transferred to Anzhi from Dinamo in the summer.

Martino says he will go into the season with Pique, Mascherano, Puyol, Batra as his CB after failing to sign a defender. Why would he sell Mascherano? His next option is 17year old Frank Bagnack.
