I'm sorry but to say spurs have to spend 100mil to reach our level is just plain wrong. We only finished 1 point ahead of them the past two seasons. They have already improved their team and should be more consistent.

Lamela is one of the players I really wanted arsenal to sign. He is definitely the type of winger we should have at this club. To be fair it was so quiet on him I thought he was not available. Bottom line if he is, we simply cannot allow spurs to get him. It is that simple, and if they add him we will definitely regret it.

I still think lamela stays at Roma, they have added to their squad and looked like they wanted to challenge. If they sell lamela then de Rossi is gone and Roma go ten steps back.

Fair enough, may reveal everything. I just think we cannot afford to overlook them. We are not superior to them, but also are not far from the very top teams. I think it will be an absolute dogfight this year, for the title, for top 4 etc. we are letting a massive opportunity slip through our fingers. (That is just my frustration talking)

No, that's fine.

They have spent money because they want champions league, that is; they want to finish in the top four, which is our level. Looking at their signings, it may well be that they are equal now but are they better than Chelsea, United and City? I wouldn't think so and I wouldn't put us at that level if we made their signings either. Basically, in a roundabout way, I am saying that they have done decent business but it's not what we need to do. We have to aim higher.

Bale is off 100% and Spurs are just spending the £100m. With Capoue done, that's like £60m gone, right?

Fair play to AVB i must say. He is buying really, really well. Shipping out Huddlestone and Parker for Paulinho and Capoue is genius. Chadli is a talented player and Soldado will surely net atleast 15 for them. Ok they are losing Bale. Anyone else? One of the strikers, surely - Defoe or Adebayor? Wouldnt surprise me if Defoe goes as Soldado is exactly the same type of striker. And now here they are with _£40m left. They sold Caulker in hope of getting that Romanian defender. Ok the deal fell through, but im sure they have backup options so we can count on a defender coming in aswell. So only question remains, is this it or are they going all out on a superstar quality winger to replace Bale? If they do then i will be very scared of them unless we make 2-3 GOOD signings.

I'm impressed with AVB's signings so far. He has certainly spent well in areas of the team he needed to improve. Midfield , Striker , Wing and quite certain he will do something in the defensive areas. If they lose Bale i have no doubt in my mind they will use the funds to bring another quality attacker.

AVB might not have barn stormed the signings in terms of names captain but the squad he has got together has few holes and all seem to fit a plan, well done to them and their sporting director. I don't think any of them will set the world alight individually but over the course of the season as it stands with or without Bale I see them being easily in the mix.

They relied on Bale far too much last year but this year they have some proper players to balance out the contribution to winning matches and a core with dembele, vertonghen, sandro, Soldado and Lloris looks more than decent.

Best 11 for best 11, I reckon we're a touch better than Spurs, and that's including Bale.

Right now, I'd put them ahead on players, but Wenger is still the better coach. That will see us through. Tottenham might be planning on keeping Bale along with these signings. They might just be spending this year's and next year's TV money at once
