Thiago to Bayern close according to journo's on twitter. Apparently Sandro Rosell leaked news that Pep tried to wreck Neymar deal as he knew pep was talking to thiago in a effort to damage pep.

Be interesting to see how he does there, if he excels a bigger club will be in for him. Can't say I've been that impressed with him tbh but will be interesting to see how well he does in the English league.

What intrigue me about the press conference is that he basically confirms in Thiago joins as expected, he IS first choice and he wants to play 4-1-4-1. Where does this leave Schweinsteinger? Assuming the holding is Martinez, unless Bastian move up to the attacking spots he won't be first choice surely. Ribery and Mandzukic basically retains their place, which means only 2 spots left for Mueller, Gotze, Shaqiri, Robben, Kroos. One big club will get one of them when they are unhappy in Jan.

Seems ridiculous to break up the Schweinsteiger/ Martinez midfield after last season, but I guess it'll be Martinez and Dante in defence, with Schweinsteiger and Kroos/ Thiago/ Rode/ Gustavo deeper, Ribery and Gotze guaranteed a position and one of Mueller/ Robben/ Thiago/ Shaqiri getting the other attacking midfield spot.

There must be some bargains up for grabs in that group - Gustavo and Shaqiri at the very least. Can't believe Gustavo would want to stay there the season before the Brazil world cup.

I do think Mueller is too good to be left out, same for Badstuber. We should make a serious move for Luiz Gustavo. Its a world cup year and he is not going to get much game time.

Meanwhile, the Sunderland revolution continue. They have signed Giaccherini from Juventus for 8m, while Juve signs Obonna who was linked with us for 13m. Sunderland's move for wonderkid Peruzzi now in doubt, after Velez president said they couldn't agree personal terms despite fee being agreed. Where did Sunderland find all these money?

Milan has backed out of the Ljajic move after the Robinho move to Santos fell through. Galliani also confirms Honda will join them in Jan on a free transfer, they don't have cash to pay the 3.5m CSKA wants to make a move now.
