I agree Captain. It's nuts, although it won't necessarily result in them slipping at all.

I think they would've been much better served making an example of one high profile "untouchable" player, signing one additional one, and hanging onto (and backing) Ancelotti, not just now but during the previous season when it was apparent for some time that Carlo was near enough to a dead man walking.

I still don't understand Carlo's crime. Didn't he earn himself the time to build a Champs League run when he won the double last year? Arsenal and Chelsea represent two crazy extremes when it comes to evaluating managers.

The Mourinho and Scolari packages are shocking. If I were a good manager, I'd be angling for a job at Chelsea. It's 2 years of suffering, but then you are freed with a huge compensation for your troubles.

The Telegraph reported that Villas-Boas got the job because Hiddink had wanted Wilkins re-instated.

Seeing as Wilkins was sacked on the direct orders of Abramovich that was obviously a risky request.

Props to Hiddink for requesting that, if true. You have to respect a guy who insists on his method.

It could be he was testing how much Abramovich wanted him. If Roman really wanted him, he might have been willing to give Hiddink more independence with respect to coaching-related matters. Was probably a smart way for Hiddink to test the quality of the work environment.
